Get Ready for 2025: IELLO Unveils New Releases, Reimagined Classics, and Celebrations!
As we approach the end of 2024, board game publisher IELLO is already generating excitement for what’s to come in 2025. With several intriguing new games and special releases lined up, there’s a lot to look forward to, whether you’re a fan of strategic play, clever mechanics, or a bit of organized competition. So, what can we expect from IELLO's 2025 lineup?
One of the standout releases is Time Bomb: Undercover, a new twist on Yusuke Sato’s Timebomb, co-designed by Quentin Schoemacker. This version, set to debut in France on November 8, 2024, and elsewhere in 2025, is perfect for groups of 4-8 players. The game divides players into three competing teams: the Agency, which aims to prevent the bomb from going off; the Organization, intent on world destruction; and the Shadow, a wildcard character manipulating the others for a chance to cut the final wire. The gameplay is spiced up with role reveals, secret identities (including double agents like the Viper and Ace), and location cards that add twists to each round as players work to snip wires one by one.
For fans of lighter, more casual games, IELLO has Piña Coladice, designed by Yann Dupont. Released in France in July 2024 and coming to the U.S. in 2025, this game challenges players to roll five dice up to three times, aiming to claim coasters from a 4x4 grid. Quick decisions can earn more points, and a clever placement of four cocktail markers in a line can instantly secure a win. LUZ, a new trick-taking game by Taiki Shinzawa, follows a similar path, debuting in France in October 2024 and making its way to other regions in 2025. In LUZ, players face the challenge of bidding on tricks without knowing the numbers on their own cards—only the colors—adding a unique twist to the classic trick-taking formula.
As IELLO celebrates its twentieth anniversary, fans of King of Tokyo will have even more to look forward to. The King of Tokyo: Tournament Kit is set to enhance organized play, providing components to host tournaments with up to 16 players, including exclusive buttons and promo cards as prizes. To commemorate this milestone, IELLO will also introduce King of Tokyo monster #100, aptly named The 100th. This new monster sports the brand's iconic yellow and black colors and will be available in early 2025 as part of the anniversary celebrations.
With a blend of strategic challenges, party-ready fun, and a nod to its own history, IELLO's 2025 lineup has something for everyone. Whether you're gearing up to stop a bomb in Time Bomb: Undercover or planning your moves in Piña Coladice and LUZ, these new releases promise countless hours of enjoyment.
