The Nacho Granola Bar

I’ve been thinking about portable snacks. The kind you throw in a bag and forget about until you need them. Granola bars keep coming up — compact, efficient, pretending to be helpful. And that’s when it occurred to me: what if there were a nacho granola bar?

Not a joke one. Not a novelty. A real attempt at solving a real problem — the distance between wanting nachos and being anywhere near a plate. Something dense, structured, and layered. Crushed chips instead of oats. Cheese baked in just enough to hold it together. A hint of heat. Nothing flashy. Just enough to feel intentional.

I like the idea that it wouldn’t be perfect. That it would exist mostly to prove it could. A small, dense answer to a question no one asked, but a few people would understand.

It probably doesn’t exist. And if it did, it would be divisive. But I like knowing there’s still room in the world for ideas that aren’t trying to be better — just trying to be comforting, convenient, and a little bit cheesy.
