The Chili Dog Nacho Pileup
There are nachos. There are chili dogs. And then there’s the Chili Dog Nacho Pileup: the kind of dish that looks like a dare, eats like a touchdown, and haunts your kitchen towels for days.
Tortilla chips struggle under the weight of sliced hot dogs, a river of beefy chili, cheddar that started out hopeful but quickly gave up, and a few stray onions trying to pretend they’re part of a balanced diet. Some people add a zigzag of mustard. Those people are heroes or villains—maybe both.
It’s not elegant. It’s not subtle. But it captures the unhinged joy of a ballpark snack in all its greasy glory. The kind of food you eat leaning over the sink, hoping no one walks in and asks questions.
Best enjoyed with a cold drink, a total lack of shame, and something with explosions on TV. Do not serve on your finest china. Do serve with paper towels, a sense of adventure, and printed directions to the nearest bathroom.
